We are looking for a creative, detail-oriented individual to join our team as a visual effects artist.  The responsibilities of the visual effects artist include creating computerized animations and special effects in Unity.

To be a successful visual effects artist, you should be highly creative with a strong working knowledge of standard industry software tools. 

You will take part in brainstorming sessions along with the Art Director and whole art team, you will also work with the development team. We work in Unity but if you have experience in different gaming engines, it’s a great opportunity to learn how to use your skills in Unity.

Responsibilities:

  • Create VFX using Unity tools such as, but not limited to: particle systems, shaders and custom animation framework that we created

  • Create Spine animations

  • Close collaboration with artists, animators, and developers for achieving an efficient and convenient workflow

  • Analyze and optimize the design to satisfy art and performance needs, or keep the balance between beautiful and fast

  • Working as part of an agile cross-functional team that also includes Unity developers, and QA engineers

  • Integrate creative assets (art and visual effects) into the game

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience as animator, motion designer, VFX Artist 

  • Experience with Spine

  • Experience in creating visual effects using at least two of the following – particle system/visual effect graph, sprite animations or timeline animation 

  • Strong skills in Photoshop                                        

  • Communication in the team includes English, so pre-intermediate level at least

  • Experience with product management software such as JIRA

  • Strong initiative and ability to work independently

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

  • Portfolio — is a must

Advantages:

  • Proven technical skills in optimization

  • Unity VFX animator 

  • Understanding of rendering pipeline (materials, draw-calls, batching, texture atlas)

  • Experience in Puzzles, Match3 games (toon blast exactly)
